CASA Christmas Project 2009
CASA, with the help of lots of local elves, provided Christmas gifts to over 170 Hunt County foster kids. The number originally started out at 150 in November, but rose to over 170 by Christmas Eve. Through numerous email responses, private donors, local churches and local offices getting involved, CASA was able to make sure every Hunt County child that we represent in foster care had a wonderful Christmas full of toys and surprises. The CASA volunteer asks each child what they want for Christmas. That list is then forwarded to a person who has agreed to sponsor a child for Christmas. Only the age of the child and whether they are a boy or girl is given out along with their wish list. Every wish list was filled and then some.
